About this option

Created around your home and how you live.

If you would love your driveway gates to open as you arrive, we will help you find the right way to get there. We start by checking your existing gates, posts and foundations. Where they are sound and suitable, we can plan a motor and controls around them. Often, though, older or lightweight gates are not built to be automated, and a new made-to-measure automated gate is the safer, more reliable long-term choice. Either way, we will explain your options honestly.

Honest advice on your existing gates

We check the gate structure, hinges, posts and ground before recommending whether to automate what you have or replace it.

Convenient everyday access

Open the gates from the car with a remote, or use a keypad or intercom, depending on the controls you choose.

Safety designed in

Powered gates need the right safety devices and set-up. We plan these as part of the design and check everything carefully before handover.

A tidy, well-integrated finish

Motors, cables and control posts are positioned neatly so your entrance still looks smart.

Automate or replace?

Honest advice before anything is fitted.

Not every gate is built to carry a motor. We check the gate, hinges, posts and foundations first, then recommend the route that will be safe and reliable for years to come.

Here to help

Your questions about gate automation.

Can you automate my existing gates?

Sometimes. Gates need to be strong, square and well supported to work safely with a motor, and the posts and foundations must be able to take the extra load. We check all of this first. If your current gates are not suitable, which is often the case with older or lightweight gates, we will recommend a new automated gate instead and explain why.

Should I motorise my gates or replace them?

Motorising suitable gates can cost less at the outset, but adapting gates that were not built for automation can lead to reliability and safety problems. We will give you clear advice on both routes so you can choose with confidence.

Do electric gates need safety features?

Yes. Powered gates must be designed and installed so they do not put people at risk, which normally means safety devices such as photocells and correctly adjusted operating forces. We plan these in from the start and test them before handover.
