Can you replace our existing spindles with glass?
Often, yes. We check the condition and construction of the stairs, newel posts and landing edge, then recommend the best way to fix the new glass. Some staircases suit side-fixed glass, while others are better with a channel or posts.
Do glass staircase balustrades meet Building Regulations?
Balustrades on stairs and landings need to meet the height and strength requirements in the Building Regulations (Approved Document K). We plan the glass, fixing method and any handrail with these requirements in mind and set out the specification in your quotation.
Will we still need a handrail?
Many staircases still need a handrail to help everyone use the stairs safely. We will recommend whether your design needs one and can fit a slim stainless steel handrail that keeps the look clean.
